Where I started
A teacher first.
Then real estate.
Before real estate, I spent my days in classrooms and on the sidelines. Here's the short version of how I got here.
- 01 · Honduras
Teaching in Honduras
My career started as a teacher in Honduras. Those two years taught me a lot about relationships and my place in the world.
- 02 · Indianapolis
Back home to Indy
I came home and spent the next five years teaching high school Anatomy and Physiology.
- 03 · Sidelines
Coaching and coffee
In those years I also coached basketball and baseball, and I worked part-time as a barista at a local coffee shop.
- 04 · Today
The next step
I first got interested in real estate while I was teaching. Learning about owning property made me realize how much of it I hadn’t been taught.
How I work
I still think
like a teacher.
A good lesson breaks a big topic into small steps and leaves room for questions. That's how I walk you through buying a home: one step at a time, in plain words.
That matters most the first time. New words, new numbers and a lot of decisions can pile up fast.
What I’d do differently
I bought a single-family home as my first property. At the time, the location and having my own space won out.
After seeing what house hacking can make possible, I’d choose it if I were buying my first home again. Rental income can help cover the payment while you build equity. I want to help other buyers understand that opportunity, work through the numbers and find a home that makes sense for them.
Around town
Always up for
a coffee chat.
You might spot me at the Irsay YMCA, playing soccer around town, or checking out local shops downtown.
My friend Ian DeFelice (opens in a new tab) and I run @indycoffeeculture (opens in a new tab), where we post the local coffee shops we visit around Indy. If you're thinking about buying, I'd love to talk it through over coffee.
Giving back
Indy Street Sweep.
Living in Indy, you get to know what Hoosier hospitality feels like. To me, that includes taking care of the places we share: our parks, streets and neighborhoods.
That’s why I join the Roots crew for Indy Street Sweep. We bring neighbors together to pick up litter and keep those places beautiful.
There are five neighborhood cleanups a year and one big citywide event every July.

You work with me, and through Roots Realty Co. I have a deep bench behind me: lenders, contractors, partners and other resources to support a first home or an investment purchase.
Want to talk through your first house hack?
Send me a note.
Tell me what you're weighing, whether that's a house hack, a first home or your next one. I'll write back, and you decide what comes next.
